Mission Real Estate Overview

Located in northeastern Johnson County, Mission is a suburban area of the Kansas City metroplex. With a population just under 10,000, Mission is one of the top growth areas in the state. Its Gateway Project will redevelop the Mission Mall while Mission’s downtown District is being revitalized in conjunction with the Rock Creek Floodplain Control Project.

Mission is served by Shawnee Mission School District, which received a gold medal rating from Expansion Management Magazine. The only district in Kansas to be named to the 2011 AP Achievement list, Shawnee Mission’s graduation rate is nearly 91%, and the average SMSD teacher has more than 14 years’ experience.
